Kirkwood National Golf Club & Cottages is seeking an experienced Food & Beverage Director to lead the development and management of our dining operations, including the Overlook Bar & Grill and pro shop snack bar. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape our culinary concept from the ground up while working directly with ownership in a collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Partner with ownership to develop restaurant concept, menu design, and bar service for Overlook Bar & Grill.
Manage full-service snack bar operations in the pro shop with elevated menu offerings beyond traditional golf course fare.
Oversee food and beverage operations for varying schedules: Tuesday evening dinners, Thursday-Saturday dinner service, Sunday brunch, and special sporting events.
Coordinate with pro shop staff and ownership on special events, golf tournaments, and onsite retreats
Recruit, hire, train, and supervise all front and back of house staff
Develop supervisory staff and transition management responsibilities as team grows
Monitor and report sales performance and operational productivity directly to ownership
Adapt seasonal menu offerings based on golf course activity and guest preferences
Schedule & Operations:
Tuesday trivia night
Thursday-Saturday: Full dinner service
Sunday: Brunch service
Additional hours for sporting events and special functions.
Seasonal menu adjustments based on course activity.
Compensation Structure:
Competitive base salary for initial quarter.
Performance-based profit sharing program begins after first quarter (40% F&B Director, 60% Kirkwood).
Base salary adjustment upon profit sharing implementation.
Ideal Candidate:
Proven experience in food and beverage management, preferably in hospitality or club environments.
Strong leadership and team development skills.
Menu development and concept creation experience.
Event coordination and catering capabilities.
Financial acumen with P&L responsibility.
Flexibility.
